WHAT ABOUT THE STAFF?
Camp Eden employs staff members that are mature, responsible, caring and committed to youth development. From running safe activities, modeling the core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility, to knowing how to help our campers adapt to and enjoy the overnight camp experience. Each staff member is selected and trained to ensure that each child builds confidence, forms new connections, learns skills and grows as an individual in the comfort of a welcoming and warm environment.
WHAT MY CHILD WILL GAIN FROM GOING TO EDEN SUMMER CAMP?
Through classes, activities, staff role models and daily conversations, campers learn about the virtues of life.
They will achieve lifelong social skills such as caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. These things will help your child to navigate through the challenges of life. We believe that after your child will return home with long lasting great memories and that you will be able to notice your child’s growth and how much this summer camp was a great positive influence on the process of the child’s maturity.
HOW CAN I BE SURE MY CHILD IS SAFE?
• All staff are carefully interviewed, screened and must pass criminal background checks prior to being hired.
• All staff participate in an intensive one week training prior to the start of camp.
• A paramedic is on duty and onsite 24-hours a day. A hospital is 20 minutes drive from the camp.
• All waterfront activities are supervised and managed by certified lifeguards.
• All staff members are certified in First Aid and CPR.
WHAT IS CABIN LIFE?
There is nothing more central to the camp experience than the cabin life for our campers. Campers are grouped by age and gender with one counselor. Counselors will sleep in the cabin with their group.
In the cabin our campers learn to live together as part of a community. In this small group, campers foster self-awareness, communication skills, trust and problem-solving abilities. Each cabin is newly renovated and has a built in bathroom, with new toilets and showers.
WHAT WILL MY CHILD EAT?
In Camp Eden we have an onsite chef and a fully equipped kitchen. Campers enjoy 3 nutritious meals each day. We will provide your child a healthy balance and variety of foods, including vegetarian options. We are able to accommodate any food sensitivities, allergies, or restrictions.
WHAT WILL MY CHILD DO IN A TYPICAL DAY?
Each morning the children will have breakfast, meet for a short daily brief and then work together for cabin cleanup. The morning will be filled with English class activities. After lunch they will have land or water activities. In the afternoon the children will have free choice activities.
